| Steve Bralley
Steve has been in law enforcement since 1978. He began his career as a dispatcher in 1978 and became a sworn police officer in 1981. Steve graduated from the New River Criminal Justice Training Academy in 1981 and began his career at the Wythe County Sheriff's Office. During his time there, he served as a patrol officer and worked as an investigator. In 1993, Steve came to the Wytheville Police Department as a patrolman and was promoted to investigator in August of 2000. Steve has received certifications through the Department of Criminal Justice Services as Field Training Officer, Crime Scene Technician, Evidence Collection, General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Defensive Driving Instructor, Radar Instructor and Hostage Negotiator. In August 2010 Steve was promoted to Staff Lieutenant where he is responsible for the scheduling of E-911 dispatchers and the paid firefighters. He is a certified VCIN operator and he supervises 5 paid fire engineers and 6 dispatchers. He insures that the E-911 operates effectively on a daily basis and that the fire apparatus and police vehicles are ready to respond to emergencies. He is the fleet manager for the fire and police vehicles along with being the primary evidence room custodian and asset forfeiture program coordinator for the police department. |
