David has been with the Wytheville Fire Department since January 2000. He entered the fire service in July 1967 as a volunteer with the Max Meadows Fire Department of which he is now the Chief. Prior to his employment with the Wytheville Fire Department, he worked at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant Fire Department from 1981 - 1999. He entered as a firefighter and left as a Captain. David is an Adjunct Instructor for the Virginia Department of Fire Programs. He is also a certified Dispatcher.

David received his AAS in Business Management from Wytheville Community College and a Certificate in Fire Science from New River Community College.
