Captain Arnold came to the department in September of 1977 as a Patrol Officer. He received his AAS from Wytheville Community College in 1976 in Police Science. He was promoted to Sergeant in June 1985 and moved up to Lieutenant in 1992. His Bachelor Degree in Organizational Management came from Bluefield College in 1996. In 2001 he was promoted to Captain and received his Master Degree in Criminal Justice from Radford University. Captain Arnold oversees the daily operations of patrol, investigations, parking enforcement and animal control. He also schedules the officers shifts and their training. Captain Arnold is the Tactical Team Commander.
