The Primary Mission of the Wytheville Department of Public Safety is to provide a range of programs designed to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants of the Town of Wytheville from the adverse effects of fire, crime and violence that affect the quality of life or the exposure to dangerous conditions created by either man or nature.
The Wytheville Department of Public Safety (WDPS) is located at 185 W. Spring Street in Wytheville, VA. The WDPS includes the Wytheville Police and Fire Departments, E-911 Communications Center, Animal Control, and Building Inspections.
With the support of the Town Council and Administration, the WDPS has advanced technologically and professionally, which allows the Department to offer added services to the citizens of Wytheville. The strong administrative staff and veteran police officers, career firefighters, paid on call firefighters and E-911 dispatchers, combined with cutting edge training give the WDPS the ability to face the challenges of the future with confidence.
